Réquiem por el gato sin nombre


Ya conté aquí su historia conocida y algo de la desconocida.
El sábado me extraño que a la hora de comer no se pusiera junto a mí, esperando que algo cayera. En caso de que no le echara nada, él se encargaba de empujarme con su pata, diciéndome que se encontraba allí esperando. Ya por la noche lo busque y siendo lo sobón que era, lo acaricie y no se levantaba. Le puse agua, hizo un esfuerzo, se puso de pie y estuvo bebiendo un buen rato. Comer, no quiso comer nada. No se le veían heridas.
El domingo no daba un duro por él, y el lunes en cuanto me levante y vi que seguía con vida, lo primero que hicimos fue llegarnos a Cóbano al veterinario. Lo auscultó delante de mí, y al tocarle en los riñones empezó a orinar sangre. Exactamente igual que cuando lo llevamos la primera vez, lo cual quiere decir que el animal, fuera humano o de los otros, que lo destrozó la primera vez, le dejo los riñones bien jodidos.
No era el mismo de antes. Se pasaba el día durmiendo y no insistía mucho para que lo acariciara.
Esta mañana llamaron advirtiéndonos que no se recuperaba y esta tarde la definitiva, que había muerto. No era el gato de las siete vidas.
Ha muerto sin que ni siquiera le pusiéramos nombre. Lo llamábamos gato.


Entre Rolo y Carlos le han hecho su tumba donde esta noche cuando lo traigan lo enterraremos.
